The case of an area doctor charged with assault will proceed next month in Struthers Municipal Court.

Robert Moser, 40, of Canfield, was charged by Springfield Township police with the second-degree felony offense after they said he assaulted someone at The Lake Club, a country club on Paulin Road, on May 3.

The incident reportedly occurred during the Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao televised boxing match the night of May 2.

Moser appeared in court for arraignment last week, where a judge set his bond at $10,000. According to court records, he is free on bond after posting 10 percent of it.

The date of his next court appearance is set for July 29.

Moser specializes in internal medicine, and his medical license expires in July 2016, according to Ohio Medical Board records. Records indicate that he received his medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University.

According to Mercy Health, Moser has admitting privileges to St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital, but is not affiliated with or employed by Mercy Health.

Information was not immediately available about whether Moser currently is practicing medicine.
