GM president: Chevrolet has been reinvented

DETROIT — Chevrolet has been reinvented.

Alan Batey, president of General Motors North America and global Chevrolet brand chief, told reporters this morning at the Chevrolet: Powered by Innovation event Aming his points:

• Chevrolet has put the customer in the center of everything.

• Chevrolet wants to stand a part from other brands based on: stunning design, performance and technology.

• These are delivered with value and quality.

"We believe and we know that customers are the lifeblood of our business," Batey said.

Batey unveiled the 2016 Camaro Convertible Wednesday morning at the Motor City Casino Hotel in Detroit.

Tonight, the Lordstown-built Chevrolet Cruze will be unveiled.

“In every corner of the globe, Cruze has been successful at introducing new and younger customers to Chevrolet,” said Batey. “Compact car customers are looking for style, safety and connectivity at an affordable price and the Cruze delivers on all fronts.”

The new Cruze will be larger, yet lighter and comes with a sleek design, new technologies and power trains.

It will hit showrooms in Spring 2016.
