Browns gamble on Pryor

The Cleveland Browns are proponents of the Terrelle Pryor experiment.
Last week, Pryor’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, began notifying NFL teams his client would switch from quarterback to wide receiver after being cut by the Cincinnati Bengals, ProFootballTalk.com reported. Well, the project piqued the Browns’ interest partly because they could use more playmakers in their receiving corps.
The Browns announced they were awarded Pryor off waivers Monday. The team confirmed the former standout quarterback for Ohio State University would compete for a roster spot at receiver.
The Browns waived undrafted rookie defensive back Landon Feichter to make room for Pryor, a Jeannette, Pa., native who led the Buckeyes to a record of 31-4 in three years as a starter.
The 6-foot-4, 233-pound Pryor has three NFL seasons on his resume. The Oakland Raiders selected him in the third round of the 2011 supplemental draft, and he went 3-7 as a starting quarterback before they traded him to the Seattle Seahawks in April 2014.
Pryor, 26, spent training camp last year with the Seahawks and parts of this offseason with the Kansas City Chiefs and Bengals. All three teams cut him.
