UPDATE | Boardman Township 911 service is down

BOARDMAN

Officials say residents are able to report emergencies, despite a power outage that shut down the township’s 911 service.

Calls are going to Austintown Township’s dispatch center, thanks to a dual system the two communities share, Boardman Township Administrator Jason Loree says.

The calls then are being forwarded to Boardman via landline.

Ohio Edison crews are working to resolve the issue. The township government center’s power appears to be partly restored, Loree said.

He said he expects the emergency system to be up and running within the hour.
