Assailant knocks victim's teeth out during armed robbery


YOUNGSTOWN — A woman waiting for a bus at Elm Street and New York Avenue at about 10 p.m. Monday lost several teeth when she was hit in the face with a gun during a robbery, reports said.

The woman told police a car drove up to her with a female driver. A man in the passenger's seat pointed a gun at her and demanded her purse.

The woman refused and the man struck her above an eye with a gun. The man took the purse, then hit her in the mouth with the gun, reports said.

The woman was treated for her injuries at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
