Village Police Chief Ryan Bonacci resigned from his position Friday afternoon. “I will miss this village, its residents and its traditions,” he said in an email to the village’s mayor and council members Friday night.

Bonacci, who was appointed police chief in August 2013, said he accepted a job with another department.

Bonacci had replaced William Vance, who retired after 27 years.

Neither Bonacci nor Mayor Jim Iudiciani could be reached for additional comment Sunday.
