WARREN

Tonya M. Gunther, 50, of Jefferson Street Southwest was arraigned Friday morning in Warren Municipal Court on a felonious-assault charge after a June 4 domestic dispute in which police said she stabbed her live-in boyfriend in the back.

A not-guilty plea was entered for her, and bond was set at $2,500. She was ordered to have no contact with her boyfriend.

Police were called to the boyfriend’s home on Homewood Avenue Southeast at 11 p.m. June 4. Her boyfriend, 51, was not there, but Gunther said the man punched her in the head, and she had swelling and bruising around her eyes.

Several hours later, police learned the boyfriend had been stabbed and later went to a hospital for treatment.

A warrant for Gunther’s arrest was issued June 9. Police arrested her Thursday night at the Northeast Ohio Community Alternative Program on Pine Avenue Southeast.
