Miss Blaney, Mr. Botting are engaged

Ronald and Diane Blaney of Canfield are announcing the engagement of their daughter, Caitlin Blaney, and Alexander Botting, both of Chicago.

David Botting of Canterbury, Kent, England, and Elaine Botting of Royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent, England, are the parents of the future groom.

Invitations will be issued for the wedding, set for Oct. 10 at St. Stephen Martyr Catholic Church and for a reception to follow at The Willard Intercontinental Hotel, both in Washington, D.C.

The bride-elect received a bachelor’s degree from George Washington University and a master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University. She is director of the office of the chairman at Prescient Edge, Chicago.

Mr. Botting received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Warwick in England and a master’s degree from George Washington University. He is a consultant for Euromonitor International in Chicago.
