Struthers man pleads not guilty to aggravated menacing charge

STRUTHERS — Gust Mamounis, 38, of Struthers pleaded not guilty today to charges of aggravated menacing.

Mamounis was arraigned in municipal court here. Police reports say that Monday, Mamounis followed a group of children, ranging from 11- to 15-years-old, along Elm Street while holding a handgun, making threats to kill the children and using racial slurs. Officers arrested Mamounis on Monday evening and later released him on a $300 bond.

Before dismissing Mamounis, Judge James Lanzo told him, "This is not the militia. ... You will not be chasing these kids around."
