Where have all US flags gone?

Driving along the Routes 7 and 224 corridor, I was shocked at the number of businesses, small and large, that do not fly our flag. Why?

After 9/11, flags were flown proudly to proclaim our love and respect for the United States of America. Slowly but surely the flags disappeared, and they have not been replaced. Why?

This is not a political issue; this is a citizenship issue. We should be showing our colors: red, white, and blue. As a country, we certainly have our problems, but that is no excuse not to fly our flag. America is our home, and we must show our love for her.
