No lawn awards for city schools
After reading the article on delinquent grass cutters in The Vindicator of June 11, I could not help but think of who I believe to be one of the worst violators: the Youngstown Board of Education.
Its crews are lucky to cut the grass at the former West School property once a month, and then it takes them all week to cut it because it looks like a farmer’s field. The former Washington property looks the same.
If you call up to complain, one official answers the phone, tells you how much grass they have to cut. Another person told me to cut it myself if I wanted it cut. These are two fine public servants.
