Four Warren men indicted in May 1 gunfire at gas station

A Trumbull County grand jury indicted four men on charges in a May 1 gunfight at the BP gas station on East Market Street in the city that injured two of the combatants and an innocent third party.

De’Shawn L. Dorsey, 24, of Jefferson Street Southwest, was indicted Wednesday on three counts of felonious assault, being a felon in possession of a firearm, aggravated robbery, carrying a concealed weapon and improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle.

The aggravated-robbery charge pertains to an incident about 10 minutes before the BP incident that involved a city woman, 24, who said a man brandished a firearm at the gas pumps at USA Gas Mart, 307 Pine Ave. SE, and took money from her purse.

He also said something to her about her boyfriend that may have been tied to the incidents that occurred later at the BP station, officials have said.

Carlos Bell, 33, of Oregon Avenue Northwest, was indicted on three counts of felonious assault, being a felon in possession of a firearm, aggravated robbery and improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle.

John Daniel, 21, of Burton Street Southeast, was indicted on charges of aggravated robbery, being a felon in possession of a firearm, three counts of felonious assault, carrying a concealed weapon and improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle.

Adante Mallory, 28, of South Feederle Drive Southwest, was indicted on charges of aggravated robbery, three counts of felonious assault, being a felon in possession of a firearm and improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle.

A fifth man, Darius Priest, 23, of Homewood Avenue Southeast, was indicted on one count of aggravated robbery in connection with the Gas Mart robbery, police said.

Daniel was shot in the buttocks in the BP incident and initially denied it happened in Warren, police said.

A girl, 15, was hit in the eyes with flying glass from the gunfire that resulted from the confrontation in the BP parking lot, police said. Bell was treated at St. Joseph Warren Hospital for a superficial gunshot wound to the arm resulting from the BP incident.
