YSU trustees approve $177 million fiscal-year 2016 operating budget

YOUNGSTOWN

Youngstown State University trustees approved a $177 million fiscal-year 2016 operating budget.

The amount is a 3.4 percent increase from last year’s spending plan. Trustee Ted Roberts cast the only vote against the measure. In a Finance and Facilities Committee meeting earlier this month, he said he opposed the budget resolution because it doesn’t eliminate the general fund deficit.

The deficit decreased from $10.3 million last year to $3.1 million in the FY 2016 budget.
