Woman injured
WEST FARMINGTON
A Bristolville woman was flown by helicopter to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital on Monday afternoon after a two-vehicle, head-on crash on state Route 88.
Cynthia L. Foder, 46, was driving a pickup truck westbound on Route 88 when she passed other traffic and drove into standing water at 12:15 p.m.
She lost control, sliding off the right side of the road, and then sliding left of center into the path of a dump truck, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.
The truck driver, G. Edward Payne, 59, of Rome, was not injured. Fodor was not using a seat belt. Alcohol and speed were not factors in the crash, the patrol said.
Man faces charges
WARREN
Robert J. Johnson, 21, of Martin Street, is in the Trumbull County Jail in lieu of $225,000 bond after being arraigned Tuesday on charges accusing him of entering a home on Southwest Boulevard Southwest June 2 with a gun, threatening a male and later firing it toward the male’s mother.
Not-guilty pleas were entered in Warren Municipal Court for Johnson on charges of aggravated burglary, discharging firearms into a habitation and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
A woman, 34, told police Johnson came into the house and walked toward her son, but the mother charged at Johnson along with others, and they got him out of the house.
Johnson then raised the gun and fired it in the woman’s direction, missing her but hitting the house.
