Testimony underway in Paul Brown murder trial

YOUNGSTOWN — Opening statements are about to begin in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court in a 2009 murder case.

Paul Brown, 37, of Falls Avenue, is charged with aggravated murder for the death of 17-year-old Ashten Jackson on the East Side in May of 2009.

A jury was seated Monday before Judge Maureen Sweeney.

The case has gone to trial twice, in 2012 and 2013, but was postponed both times and delayed further because of appeals.
