TEDxYoungstown planned for Jan. 22

YOUNGSTOWN

The third TEDxYoungstown event has been scheduled for Jan. 22.

The full-day event once again will feature regional and national experts who will discuss various topics. The TEDxYoungstown planning committee is working to finalize the location and theme for the 2016 event.

Over the next few months, committee members will seek event sponsors and speakers and prepare to sell tickets. As plans unfold, information will be updated on the TEDxYoungstown Facebook and Twitter pages, as well as on TedxYoungstown.com.

Online applications for speakers will be available soon, and casting calls are planned for July. Tickets to attend the event will go on sale in August.

Mixer at golf club

CANFIELD

The Mahoning Valley Young Professionals will have a mixer from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Kennsington Golf Club, 4171 Westford Place.

The cost is $5 for members and $10 for nonmembers. There will be an unofficial nine-hole round of golf for members starting at 3 p.m.

Fire Grill event

GIRARD

The Fire Grill, 30 N. State St., will celebrate its first year of operating an American-style bistro in downtown and have a grand opening of a rooftop patio on the Fourth of July weekend.

With the addition of the second-floor patio, the complex is complete and ready for live music.

A weekly concert series will be featured on the rooftop patio, which will accommodate about 50 patrons at tables and the open-air bar.
