Brother of man killed in Warren officer-involved shooting death charged with weapons offense

The younger brother of a man killed in an officer-involved shooting in October 2013 was charged with carrying a concealed weapon early Saturday during a routine traffic stop.
Tre Vaughn Walker, 22, who listed addresses on Woodbine Avenue Southeast and Walden Court in Youngstown, was taken into custody after a 12:02 a.m. incident.
Police say they made a traffic stop on a car after it failed to stop at a stop sign at Colonial Street and Niles Road Southeast.
A not-guilty plea was entered for him Monday in Warren Municipal Court. He is in the Trumbull County Jail without eligibility to make bond.
Police stopped the vehicle on Youngstown Road and found a handgun behind the driver’s seat of the car.
Two officers were in the patrol car, and both approached the vehicle, one on each side, asking the female driver, Tashae D. Dorsey, 19, of Feederle Drive Southeast, and Walker, the front-seat passenger, for identification. She later was cited with a stop-sign violation.
According to a police report, Walker “appeared very nervous ... and the vein on the right side of his neck was pulsating rapidly.”
The driver denied there were weapons in the car and refused to allow police to search, so officers deployed a police dog to sniff, and the dog had a “positive hit” on the car. The handgun was loaded.
Walker also was in Warren Municipal Court last week on a felony charge of discharging a firearm into a habitation related to a May 30 incident involving gunshots fired three separate times the same day at a house on Fourth Street Southwest.
The incidents occurred at 4:48 a.m., 9:30 a.m. and in the afternoon. Walker was one of five men charged.
Walker is the brother of Taemarr Walker, 24, who died in October 2013 in a confrontation with a different Warren police officer on Risher Road Southwest.
The officer came in contact with Taemarr Walker after he drove a car into a ditch along Risher while the officer was at the scene assisting a tow-truck driver attending to an abandoned vehicle on the other side of Risher.
Taemarr Walker refused to obey commands from the officer and was holding a handgun at the time he was shot to death.
Another brother, Tashawn Walker, 27, of Texas, is awaiting trial, accused in the shooting death of Richard Rollison IV, 24, of Niles, one week later at the Sunoco gas station on West Market Street.
