Facing assault charges

YOUNGSTOWN

An East Boston Avenue woman, 36, faces assault charges after her arrest Saturday evening. Police said she is accused of stabbing her ex-boyfriend with a screwdriver.

Cheree Moore of East Boston Avenue is charged with felonious assault. She told police her ex-boyfriend came to her home to confront her about talking about him, and he punched her in the face.

She said the two fought and he slammed her head against a door and then hit her with a folding metal chair. She then stabbed him with a screwdriver in the armpit. Police observed no injuries to Moore, but she was covered in the victim’s blood, a police report said.

The man told police he went to see Moore, and they argued because he interrupted her while she was installing a new lock on the door. She shoved him, he shoved her back and she stabbed him with a screwdriver, the man told police.

Moore’s two children – 2 and 16 – left with relatives. The victim was listed in stable condition at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.

When police arrived, they found the man at the top of the stairs of the home with a small amount of blood coming from the right side of his neck.
