Guardian Angels of Ohio, a volunteer program of Trumbull County Probate Court, is looking for new volunteers. Angel volunteers receive training to become advocates who reach out as friends to seniors who may need a friendly phone call, a visit in a nursing home or a visit at home. Angels also are involved in planning special events for seniors such as health fairs and Make a Difference day projects. The next meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. July 7 at Shepherd of the Valley, 4100 N. River Road, Warren. Reservations are needed for the 5 p.m. dinner, which costs $6.50. Lighting the Way is a series of free sessions on aging to help seniors and their families cope with the many decisions that come with advanced age. Legal Matters is the topic for the session from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2860 E. Market St., Warren. Information about power of attorney, living will, durable power of attorney, guardianship and protecting your identity will be discussed. Representatives from Mahoning County Probate Court will attend, and Atty. Elliot Legow will speak. A question-and-answer period also is planned. Light refreshments will be provided during breaks.
