Police investigate roof collapse at Boardman business
Staff report
BOARDMAN
Investigators say they’re looking into why a building suddenly collapsed in Boardman Saturday night, Vindicator news partner Channel 21 WFMJ News reported.
Police had to detour traffic near Market Street and Wildwood Drive around 9:30 p.m.
A portion of the roof on the Cobblestone Corner building, bearing a banner that reads “Fithian”, fell on to the building and toward the road.
Police say they are unsure what caused the collapse; however repair crews were reportedly working on the roof earlier last week.
Market Street was reopened shortly before 11 p.m.
