Painting for kids

MERCER, PA.

Munnell Run Farm, 753 Greenville Road, will host “Piglets and Paint: One Session Canvas Painting Series” events for children from 10 to 15 years old in conjunction with guest artisan Lauren Sheridan.

Sheridan has a bachelor’s in art education and a master’s in education, and she will incorporate concepts of art education and provide in-depth instruction to introduce kids to the world of creativity through art.

Farm officials require an adult to accompany the child. Cost is $20, and registration and pre-payment are required.

Class information, focus and registration deadlines are: Turtles, 6 to 8 p.m. June 30, deadline June 26; Foxes, 9 to 11 a.m. July 29, deadline July 24; and the last class’s theme is to be determined, 9 to 11 a.m. Aug. 12, deadline Aug. 7.

Payment must be received by the registration deadline. Nature walk, talk

Hermitage, PA.

The public is invited to join the Mercer County Conservation District Environmental Educators at Buhl Park, 715 Hazen Road, for a nature walk and talk program at 6 p.m. Tuesday. The reservation deadline is Monday.

Participants will explore the property and discuss the creatures, plant life and surprises along the way. The walk will take place rain or shine, but will be canceled if it storms.

Garden District

YOUNGSTOWN

The Garden District Neighborhood Association will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Fellows Riverside Gardens, 123 McKinley Ave. President Jerry O’Hara will officiate.

Councilman Mike Ray, D-4th, will give activity updates concerning the neighborhood, the West Side and the city. The group will discuss quality-of-life issues in the neighborhood.

The public meeting will be followed by a basket auction. Guests are asked to bring a new or gently used item for the auction. Tickets are 3 for $1.

Rabies clinic

VOLANT, PA.

The public is invited to bring their cats and dogs to the Plain Grove Township building, 1029 Plain Grove Road, for a rabies clinic with veterinarian Jeff McKissick from 6 to 7:30 p.m. June 25.
