HUBBARD
Hubbard police announced a reward of up to $3,000 to anyone who can provide information related to the March 7 death of Cody Pitts, 26, of Hubbard.
Officers found Pitts dead after a passer-by reported him lying face down on the side of Orchard Avenue near North Main Street at 3:24 a.m. Pitts was last seen with friends about 2:35 a.m. leaving the Downtown Coffee Cafe.
Pitts, reportedly the last to exit, left the parking lot alone and walked west down Orchard Avenue while wearing a brown stocking cap, a gray hooded sweatshirt and dark-gray sweatpants. Anyone with any information may remain anonymous and should call 330-746-CLUE.
Two face charges

Two Youngstown women face charges after township police arrested them at Kmart, 1209 Boardman-Poland Road, late Thursday.
Jamika Dates, 27, of Parkhill Drive, is charged with possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia. She also was arrested on theft and warrants for failure to appear and a probation violation.
Rayvenn Ortiz, 19, of Lake Drive, was arrested on a theft warrant and cited for possession of marijuana.
Store employees called police after recognizing the women as suspects in a May 9 theft at the store. When police attempted to handcuff Dates, she reportedly tried to get rid of a sock filled with cash, suspected heroin and a plastic straw with suspected heroin residue, leading to the additional charges.
Dates and Ortiz are scheduled to appear Tuesday in Mahoning County Area Court here.
Safety Day today

The Bazetta Township Police Department, in conjunction with Mosquito Lake Marina, will be hosting the 13th annual Safety Day from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. today at Mosquito Lake State Park, 1439 state Route 305.
The event will offer a wide range of activities for both children and adults.
There will be booths from various safety organizations along with public-safety features. The Metro Life Flight helicopter will land at noon. There will be special appearances by Chuck E. Cheese and Creekside Garden’s Mudzilla Monster Truck.
Free tote bags will be offered along with drawings for free bikes, Mahoning Valley Scrappers tickets and other prizes.

Probation sentence
YOUNGSTOWN
A woman who pleaded guilty to endangering children and tampering with evidence in connection with her husband’s abuse of their young children has been put on probation for one year.
Dawn Cavna, 28, of Youngstown, drew the sentence Thursday from Judge John M. Durkin of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.
Her husband, Christopher Cavna, is serving 90 years in federal prison on charges he took pictures of the children engaging in sexual activity in 2012 and 2013 and sent them via his cellphone and the mail. The children, whose ages were 1, 5 and 7 at the time of the abuse, are living with relatives.

The monthly Five Minutes with the Mayor begins at 5 p.m. Tuesday in Mayor John A. McNally’s city hall office. Citizens are invited to visit with McNally and discuss questions or concerns regarding city issues.
