Shareholders approve Farmers, National bank merger

CANFIELD — The shareholders of Farmers National Banc Corp., the holding company for Farmers National Bank of Canfield, and National Bancshares Corp., the holding company for First National Bank of Orrville have approved the merger between both companies.

“I am pleased by both companies’ strong shareholder support and happy that our shareholders recognized how meaningful this merger is to the long term performance of our company,” Kevin J. Helmick, president and CEO of Farmers, said in a statement.
