GIRARD

Edward Killingsworth Jr., 22, of McBride Street in Youngstown, is in the Trumbull County Jail without eligibility to make bond after being charged Tuesday with a second burglary within a month at the same Highland Avenue house where his ex-girlfriend lives.

Killingsworth was arraigned Wednesday in Girard Municipal Court on one count of felony burglary and one misdemeanor count of intimidation of a witness. He pleaded not guilty to the intimidation; no plea was required on the burglary.

Girard police said his ex-girlfriend found Killingsworth uninvited in the hallway of her apartment Sunday evening, screamed for her friend to call 911 and then ran to her bedroom.

She grabbed a can of eye irritant and sprayed it at Killingsworth, who followed her. Killingsworth fled from the home. A neighbor told police he saw Killingsworth running through the yards wiping his face about that time.

The ex-girlfriend also told police Killingsworth had visited her Saturday and begged her not to testify against him regarding a similar incident from early May 8 that resulted in Killingsworth’s being indicted on an aggravated burglary charge.

During the visit, Killingsworth started yelling at her, spit in her face and kicked her dog, she said.

In the May 8 incident, the ex-girlfriend reported that Killingsworth entered her home through a window, causing the woman to use her phone to try to call 911, but Killingsworth grabbed it and smashed it, then hit her several times, threw her to the ground and damaged her apartment.
