CLASSES
The Rayen School Class of 1959 will meet for its monthly luncheon at noon Wednesday at Stonebridge Grille and Tavern, 1497 Boardman-Canfield Road, Boardman. All classmates are welcome.

CLUBS
Friends of the Mahoning River will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Oak Hill Collaborative, 507 Oak Hill Ave., Youngstown. Parking is at the back of the building. The guest speaker will be Joseph Jendrasiak, the architect for the design of a park along the river. This project, suggested in the 1980s, ties in with the Friends mission to advocate recreation along the river. All individuals interested in the creation of a hiking-biking trail along the river are invited to attend.

Youngstown Chapter of Torch Clubs International will meet for a dinner and lecture at 6 p.m. Monday at Kilcawley Center, Bresnahan Rooms 1 and 2, on campus at Youngstown State University. Jim Villani is this month’s guest speaker. His paper “Confessions of an Organizer” examines the philosophical and social roots of being an activist and artist. The public is invited. GROUPS
That Quilt Group I Belong To will host its June meeting Tuesday at Fair Park in Canfield. Doors will open at 6 p.m., and a potluck dinner will follow at 6:30. All members are asked to take a covered dish. New officers will be installed. The guest speaker will be Lynn Zocolo, a horticulture educator from Mill Creek Park Fellows Riverside Gardens. Holborn Herb Growers Guild will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Colonial Inn at Canfield Fairgrounds. Dr. Bill Snyder, a biochemist and environmental attorney, will present “Knowing Our Soil.” Questions will be answered about soil, and weeds will be identified.
