Clients reimbursed

COLUMBUS

Clients of two former Trumbull County lawyers have been reimbursed by the Lawyers’ Fund for Client Protection for the former lawyers’ failure to provide services requested.

The fund made a $1,500 reimbursement to a former client of Kenneth N. Shaw, who was permanently disbarred in March 2014. A $128 reimbursement was made to a former client of Richard J. LaCivita, who resigned from law practice in November 2012 with discipline pending.

Established by the Ohio Supreme Court 30 years ago to reimburse victims of attorney theft, embezzlement or misappropriation, the fund is supported by attorney registration fees, not tax dollars. It formerly was known as the Clients’ Security Fund. Victims are urged to call 800-231-1680.

Burglary charges

WEATHERSFIELD

Anthony P. Divencenzo Jr., 32, of Ferndale Avenue Southwest was arraigned Wednesday in Niles Municipal Court on felony burglary, accused of stealing from his parents’ house on Oakview Drive in Weathersfield Township on April 5.

The Divencenzo family returned home at 11 a.m. and found that someone had broken in and taken jewelry, change and two televisions.

Family members suspected that the burglary was someone they knew because the family dog was loose in the house at the time of the burglary, and the dog’s demeanor suggested that the burglar was someone the dog knew, police said.

Divencenzo was arrested on a warrant Wednesday morning at Motel 30, 1600 Motor Inn Drive in Liberty. Bond was set at $7,500. No plea was required.
