City man faces drug charges

YOUNGSTOWN β€” Police found more than $32,000 cash inside a 545 Parkcliff Ave. home where they were serving a search warrant about 6 p.m. Wednesday.

One man, Chris Brown, 35, of Parkcliff, had $462 on him when he was arrested, reports said.

Police found $31,607 in a safe in a second-floor bedroom and another $1,289 in another safe in another bedroom, reports said. An additional $900 was found in a car in the driveway.

Police were serving a search warrant investigating drug activity at the home.

Brown was taken into custody because a scale was found in the home.

On the way to the jail, he asked to stretch out his leg in a cruiser because he had β€œan old football injury,” and he was moving his arms around. When he got out of the cruiser, police found a bag of suspected heroin, a bag of suspected crack cocaine and a bag of pills.

Brown was booked into the Mahoning County jail on charges of possession of drugs/heroin, possession of drugs/cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
