A summary of recent criminal activity in Girard, Liberty and Hubbard:
GIRARD
June 4
Theft: A woman noticed a $220 money order and other items had been stolen from her apartment in the 500 block of North Avenue.
Aggravated menacing: An East Kline Street man alleged his brother had threatened to shoot the accuser and his wife.
Felonious assault: An East Howard Street woman told authorities her former boyfriend pushed, punched and kicked her face and chest, leaving major bruising and her left eye swollen shut.
June 5
Theft: A woman’s purse was missing from a vehicle on East Howard Street.
Criminal damaging: A car in the 200 block of East Howard Street was found with a smashed rear passenger-side window.
Theft: An East Wilson Avenue woman discovered a wallet and other items had been removed from her vehicle.
Criminal mischief: A used condom was found in a mailbox in the 700 block of Church Hill-Hubbard Road.
Drug paraphernalia: A traffic stop on U.S. Route 422 led to a minor-misdemeanor citation charging 18-year-old Wayne A. Thorne Jr. of Austin Avenue Northeast, Warren, with having a bowl from which to smoke marijuana.
Criminal mischief: Three flower pots were broken in the 500 block of Park Avenue.
June 6
Theft: A South State Street woman discovered her purse missing from her car, and that someone apparently had tried to use her debit card.
Menacing: A Park Avenue woman reported a neighbor threatened to have her evicted as part of ongoing problems between them.
Domestic violence: Joseph Leskovec, 39, of Church Hill-Hubbard Road, Girard, faced domestic-violence and criminal-mischief charges after a family member alleged that during an argument, Leskovec had tossed beer on her, struck her arm and face and threatened to throw the accuser and her two daughters out a second-floor window. He also smashed one of the daughter’s Kindle devices, a report said.
June 7
Burglary: A woman in the 900 block of North Highland Avenue reported having found a man in her bedroom before she used pepper spray and he fled on foot.
Trespassing: A summons charging criminal trespassing was pending against a boy and a girl, both 17, after officers had responded to a suspicious vehicle at a Girard cemetery and said the teens were on the property after hours.
June 8
Identity fraud: An Ohio Avenue man told police a collection agency had contacted him regarding a $70 bill from Dominion East Ohio Gas Co. that was supposed to be in his former wife’s name.
LIBERTY
June 4
Arrest: A traffic stop on state Route 193 led to the arrests of 25-year-old Michael M. Vickers-Morgan of Eastway Drive, Youngstown, on a charge of obstructing official business, as well as 33-year-old Nereida Acevedo of McGuffey Road, Youngstown, on one count of driving under suspension. Vickers-Morgan fled on foot through a nearby cemetery after police had stopped the car, a report showed.
Vandalism: Someone damaged six double-pane windows at a home in the 500 block of Tibbetts-Wick Road. Damage came to $4,800.
Arrest: Authorities at the Mahoning County jail picked up Michael N. Childs Jr., 29, of West Indianola Avenue, Youngstown. He was wanted on a probation-violation charge.
Criminal mischief: Someone in the 4700 block of East Drive cut several links to a fence and did about $250 in damage.
June 5
Arrest: While investigating a suspicious car in the 3400 block of Denver Drive, officers charged Ronald A. Richardson, 71, of Painesville, with operating a vehicle impaired when, they said, he was passed out in the driver’s seat.
Theft: A Youngstown woman reported a $479 computer tablet stolen while at a Goldie Road big-box store.
Theft: A vehicle on Monticello Boulevard was found with all of its hubcaps removed.
Arrest: Danielle M. Levy was taken into custody after officers had pulled her over near Belmont Avenue. Levy, 47, of Mistletoe Avenue, Youngstown, was wanted on a Warren Municipal Court warrant charging failure to appear in court.
June 6
Drugs: Stephen B. Wilson of Northview Boulevard, Youngstown, faced a misdemeanor count of trafficking in marijuana after authorities had pulled him over in the 500 block of Gypsy Lane. The 48-year-old Wilson had eight individually wrapped bags of suspected marijuana, police said.
Weapon: Police responded to a situation at a Montrose Avenue home in which a Columbus boy, 13, reportedly accidentally had shot a 12-year-old Hubbard boy in the right foot after they had found the firearm while playing video games. The victim’s injury was not life threatening, however, a report stated.
Burglary: Someone entered a garage on East Montrose Avenue before stealing a 20-horsepower riding mower valued at $2,000.
Theft/criminal damaging: An employee with a Belmont Avenue motel reported a bedding set missing from a room. Also, a closet and a luggage rack had been damaged.
June 7
Assault: While dealing with reported threats at a Motor Inn Drive motel, authorities charged 44-year-old John W. Huzvar II with one felony count of assault and one misdemeanor count each of obstructing official business, resisting arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia. The Akron man came toward an officer’s face with a lighted cigarette and struggled briefly with police; he also had in his room a suspected marijuana pipe and two spoons with burn marks common in heroin use, a report showed.
Assault: A Trumbull Court man alleged a Youngstown man, 19, jumped on him and knocked the accuser to the ground, then repeatedly punched his head and face, evidently after the accuser had flattened the Youngstown man’s tires during an earlier dispute.
June 8
Burglary: Occurred in the 3200 block of Hadley Avenue via a rear door. A small quantity of prescription medications was taken.
HUBBARD
June 2
Domestic violence: A 13-year-old Hubbard girl was charged when her father alleged the teen punched him during an argument after he had forbidden her from leaving the residence.
Theft: An $80 book bag was removed from a vehicle in the 50 block of Scott Street.
Burglary: A small card table and a vacuum cleaner were missing after an apparent burglary in the 600 block of Meadowland Drive.
Recovered property: A small plastic bag of coins was found in a parking lot in the 600 block of North Main Street.
Burglary: Took place at a home in the 300 block of West Liberty Street via the front door. Stolen was about $24,875 worth of property, including money, prescription medication, assorted jewelry and exercise equipment.
June 3
Theft: A lunch bag was missing from a vehicle someone had entered in the 100 block of Scott Street.
June 4
Theft: A woman reported two $100 pieces of jewelry and $8 missing from her car in the 10 block of Walnut Street.
June 7
Criminal damaging: A woman in the 200 block of Elmwood Drive noticed damage to a patch of grass in her front yard, possibly the result of someone having intentionally sprayed weed or grass killer.
