Engineer updates commissioners on troubled Kinsman project
WARREN
Randy Smith, Trumbull County’s highway and sanitary engineer, updated the county commissioners Thursday on the troubled Kinsman Township sewer project, saying that about 800 feet of sewers in the Farmdale area that Marucci and Gaffney Excavating of Youngstown installed have to be torn out and “replaced in their entirety.”
He said the county’s consultant on the project is also reviewing many other sections outside of Farmdale that have been found to have problems that will also require either repair or replacement, but a decision on what type of fix is needed has not yet been made.
Smith said about 25 percent of the six-mile project has been videotaped by a company the county hired, and the results he reported Thursday came from the new videotaping.
