US marshals arrest man suspected in June 2 shooting
YOUNGSTOWN — A Helena Avenue man was taken into custody by U.S. marshals this afternoon on an attempted-murder warrant for a shooting that wounded a man last week.
Robert Sutherland, 42, is expected to be arraigned in municipal court today for the shooting, which wounded a 35-year-old city man inside a home in the 900 block of West Indianola Avenue about 10 p.m. June 2.
The victim was driven away from the home by his girlfriend, who stopped at a gas station in Austintown where township police were. They in turn called city police and had the victim transported to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
Sutherland is in the Mahoning County jail pending his arraignment.
