Bishop George V. Murry will celebrate a special Mass at 2 p.m. Sunday in St. Columba Cathedral, 154 W. Wood St., to mark the wedding anniversaries of 166 couples who are being honored for a total of 7,954 years of wedded life ranging from 25 to 75 years.

Frank and Anne Hovaner, parishioners of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, are celebrating 75 years and Carl and Madelyn Pedaline, parishioners of St. Christine, are celebrating 71 years of marriage.

The celebration includes renewal of marriage vows at Mass and a personalized certificate. A reception will follow for the honored couples and their families after Mass at the Cathedral Hall.

Truckload sale

The Geauga and Trumbull Solid Waste Management District will host a one-day truckload sale for rain barrels and compost bins from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Rain barrels and compost bins will be available in the parking lot of the solid-waste district, 5138 Enterprise Blvd. This is on a first-come, first-served basis, rain or shine, while quantities last. It is for residents of Geauga and Trumbull counties only. Cash, check, Visa or MasterCard will be accepted.

The Earth Machine compost bin is a $110 value for $35, tax included, and the SYSTERN rain barrel is a $120 value for $55, tax included.

Block watch to meet
