UPDATE | Woman charged with Warren's first homicide of 2015
WARREN — A city woman has been charged with murder in the death of her boyfriend early Saturday.
Teajuanna J. McKinnon, 37, of First Street Southwest, turned herself in to detectives with the Warren Police Department this morning after a murder warrant was issued for her arrest Sunday.
She’s accused of shooting to death Rayen L. Patterson, 44, of 507 Oak Circle Southwest, whose body was found at 3 a.m. Saturday at his home. Other details of the case have not been released.
The murder investigation is the first in Warren this year. Warren’s last homicide was the Nov. 22, 2014, death of Trent Hall, 18, of Braceville Robinson Raod in Braceville Township, was shot and killed by a resident of a home on Starlite Drive Northwest while Hall and others were breaking into the Starlite residence.
An accomplice of Hall, Peighton E. Bishop, 18, of state Route 534 in Braceville Township, was convicted of involuntary manslaughter, aggravated burglary and aggravated robbery in Hall’s death and sentenced to three years in prison.
The Starlite resident, who suffered a severe cut to the head during a scuffle with the intruders, was not charged. A juvenile was also connected to the break-in, but officials never provided any information on him.
