Excellence Awards presented to employees nominated by peers

YOUNGSTOWN

ValleyCare Health System of Ohio celebrated multiple recognitions throughout the month of May, in which there were observances of Nurses Week, Hospital Week and EMS Week.

In addition to the national observances, ValleyCare had two special recognition events.

The first was its annual employee service recognition dinner at which employees who had reached a five-year milestone of service, and every five years thereafter, were honored.

This year, 365 employees, with service from five to 45 years, were recognized.

The second event included Excellence Awards, which spotlight frontline staff through peer nominations. Honored were:

First Followers Award (Outstanding Leaders): John Cone III, Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital, Howland; Tawnya Golograms, Northside Medical Center, Youngstown; and Robert Halicky, Trumbull Memorial Hospital, Warren.

Patient Experience Award: Lenora Finsen, Hillside; Gerald Baker, Northside; Dana Minnelli, TMH.

Quality-Patient Safety Award: Sondra Poke, Hillside; Jody Lynn Rolla, Northside; Stacey Montgomery, TMH.

Community Service Award: Lucinda Passe, Hillside; Tammy Howard, Northside; Linda Tominey, TMH.

Overall Excellence in Nursing Award: Liana Pereira, Hillside; Pam Snyder, Northside; Rosie Minton, TMH.

Physician of the Year Supporting Patient Care Award: Dr. Jeet Mehta, Northside; Dr. Larry Woods, TMH.

Therapy Team Excellence Award: Karen Hartman, Hillside.
