Campbell police shoot bear cub

Campbell police shot down a black bear near Notre Dame Drive Sunday night.

Officer Eric Manning fired two rounds from a rifle to prevent it attacking a nearby resident. The bear was paralyzed in the rear legs and was later euthanized by police.

Police contacted the Ohio Department of Natural Resources who took custody of the bear.

According to the report, ODNR officials informed police that the bear was a cub.
