Ursulines’ ministry wins annual award

The National Association of Social Workers Region IV hosted its annual awards banquet in early May and gave the Agency of the Year Award to the Ursuline Sisters of Youngstown HIV/AIDS Ministry.

The ministry was started in 1993 by four Ursuline nuns of the Order St. Angela Merici. It continues to promote health, well-being and acceptance for those served.

Others who won awards are Patricia Sciaretta, Social Worker of the Year; Shirley M. Keller, Lifetime Achievement; John Trebets of Mentor Municipal Court, Public Elected Official of the Year; Paul Bolino of the Community Counseling Center, Public Citizen of the Year; Markus Douglas, Emerging Leader of the Year; Kimberly Goats, MSW Student of the Year; and Kim Anderson, BSW Student of the Year.
