Public meeting set June 15 for PennDOT project in Sharon
Staff report
SHARON, PA.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation invites the public to view plans for a State Street Streetscape project in the city.
The public meeting is planned from 6 to 7:30 p.m. June 15 in the library at Case Avenue Elementary School, 36 Case Ave.
The project extends on State Street (Route 3008/Route 518) from Oakland Avenue to Forker Boulevard in Sharon.
The project will include paving, installation of flush- stamped concrete median near Sharon Regional Hospital, updated drainage, landscaping and pedestrian features such as curb ramps, and decorative crosswalks and sidewalks.
Construction is anticipated to start in spring 2016. The project will be phased and require lane closures.
PennDOT is seeking input from property owners and the community, particularly on the potential of planting beds along the corridor.
There will be a brief presentation and question-and-answer period, followed by a display of plans with an opportunity to discuss the project individually with PennDOT staff members and consultants.
