Ohio Edison plans summer to-do list
YOUNGSTOWN
During the summer, Ohio Edison, a FirstEnergy Corp. utility, will complete projects, inspections and conduct equipment maintenance in its Northeast and central Ohio territory.
Helicopter patrols will complete inspections on about 4,000 miles of FirstEnergy transmission lines located in the Ohio Edison area. On the ground, the inspections include using cameras to capture infrared images that can detect potential problems with Ohio Edison substation equipment such as transformers and capacitors.
Ohio Edison crews’ utility work also includes inspecting distribution circuits, including transformers, capacitors and lightning arrestors.
YBI program kickoff
YOUNGSTOWN
The Youngstown Business Incubator will have a kickoff event for the new Women in Entrepreneurship program Thursday. The informational open house will take place at the incubator, 241 W. Federal St., downtown Youngstown, from 4 to 7 p.m.
The event will include an introduction to the program, networking opportunities, membership information and a list of upcoming events. Appetizers and refreshments will be served.
Part two of series
CANFIELD
Part two of the “Rebuilding America: Bringing Jobs Back to the USA” speaker series is scheduled for 7:15 to 9 a.m. June 23 at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center, 7300 N. Palmyra Road.
Business, civic leaders and educators will share in a discussion on the issue of unemployment and underemployment reports while employers struggle to fill open positions.

LISBON
The Business Expo & Trade Show hosted by the Columbiana County Career & Technical Center is scheduled for July 28.
The event will take place from 1 to 6 p.m. Exhibit table rates are $50 for members and $100 for nonmembers. Extra tables are $25 each. Reservation deadline is July 20. For information, email tlpeppel@salemohiochamber.org.
Movie screening set for ‘GameLoading’

The Northeast Ohio Association for Computing Machinery, Akron Game Developers, and Youngstown Game Developers are hosting a screening for the movie “GameLoading: Rise of the Indies” with special guest speakers Gary Nunley and David Nunley of SGM Games.
The event will take place at 7:30 p.m. June 25 in the Movies 8 theater at 469 Boardman-Poland Road. Tickets must be reserved by Friday for $10. There will be prizes at the event such as T-shirts and books.
