Championship

Rules

Divisions: Boys and girls compete in either the 12-14 age division or the 15-17 age division.

Eligibility: Open to players still in high school in 2015-16 or under the age of 18 as of July 26, 2015. All entrants must reside in Mahoning, Trumbull, Columbiana, Lawrence or Mercer counties.

Qualifying: Winners of the six qualifier events get an automatic bid to the championship. Six other players from each division will qualify for the final based on points earned from season-long scoring and participation.

Points system: The top five finishers in each event, in each division will earn points toward qualifying for the final. The second place finisher will get five points, third place four points, fourth place three points and fifth place two points. All participants will be given one point, regardless of finish.

Par plus 3: New this year, we will use a “Par Plus 3” system. The most you can score on a hole is triple bogey. When you hit that number, players can pick up their ball. This will restrict you from a win that day, but will allow you to stay in the event and keep a pace respectful to the field. It is a player’s call to make such a decision. Greatest reserves the right to impose this rule on a player for the benefit of the course and the event.

Registration: Fees are $35 for each event. All courses have practice rounds available. Contact the course for information.
