Animal fundraiser

The Learning Dog Training and Enrichment Center, 757 N. Main St., will host an open house and fundraiser to benefit 15 local animal rescues from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. next Sunday.
There will be door prizes, free gifts, food and refreshments, a basket auction and special prices on Learning Dog classes. The Learning Dog is a force-free, dog-training facility. For information, call 330-534-4990.
Services for veterans
ELLWOOD CITY, PA.
Pennsylvania state Rep. Jaret Gibbons, D-10th, who represents Beaver, Butler and Lawrence counties, will host an American Legion veterans specialist from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at his office at 438 Line Ave.
Multiple services will be explained, including what benefits a veteran has earned; assistance in applying for benefits through Veterans Affairs; and filling appeals to current claims. Gibbons’ office encourages any veteran to attend, as veterans are often eligible for benefits they may not be fully aware of. Constituents with questions can contact Gibbons’ office at 724-752-1133.
Kids’ summer camps
SANDY LAKE, PA.
McKeever Environmental Learning Center, 55 McKee-ver Lane, will offer a series of summer camps for children age 5 to 14. The camps are designed to connect children with the natural world through play, adventure and fun. The majority of each day is spent in the forest exploring and discovering the natural world. McKeever will offer a Nature Day Camp for 5- to 7-year-olds June 15-19 and for 8- to 10-year-olds July 13-17; earth keepers camp for 10- to 11-year-olds will be June 22-26; earth keepers level II camp for 11- to 12-year-olds will be July 29-31; and an outdoor adventure camp for 12- to 14-year-olds will be Aug. 3-7.

Car show planned
YOUNGSTOWN
St. Patrick Church, 1420 Oak Hill Ave., will host a car show from 1 to 4 p.m. next Sunday.
