Three-car accident

Three-car accident

YOUNGSTOWN

City police charged a Warren woman with driving under the influence after a three-car accident about 6:40 p.m. Thursday on Canfield Road.

Reports said officers were alerted by paramedics when they arrived that a woman sitting in the grass who was one of the drivers, Michelle Franco, 34, of Brookside Drive Northwest, was drunk.

Reports said Franco had a slight odor of alcohol on her, and told police she drank four beers about 2 p.m. Thursday.

Reports said officers asked if she would perform a field sobriety test, and at first she said she always fails them but then said she would try. She refused to take two of the tests, however, but she agreed to take a breath test, reports said.

Reports said Franco registered a blood-alcohol level of 0.250. The legal limit for drunken driving in Ohio is 0.08. Police cited Franco and gave her a court date.
