Vallourec worker falls 20 feet to catwalk; condition unknown

YOUNGSTOWN

A worker fell 20 feet at Vallourec Star this afternoon.

The Youngstown Fire Department reported Chris Gordon, 27, was cleaning crane railings when he fell off a ladder and onto a catwalk below shortly after 5 p.m. His address was not available.

The fire department had to bring him down from the catwalk on a lift for transport to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital. He was conscious, but the department could not confirm his condition.

The hospital would not release information tonight.
