Poland advances to first state title game in school history.

7th: POL 2, CBW 0

Eric White led off the inning with a single up the middle. The Bulldogs advanced White to third where Dom Lipari drove him in with a base hit. Burkert out to try and close things out in the bottom half of the inning.

6th: POL 1, CBW 0

Jared Burkert has given up one hit and struck out seven over six innings. He's at 74 pitches. His counterpart, Sam Rice, has allowed one run on four hits and struck out six. One inning left for Poland to try and close it out.

5th: POL 1, CBW 0

Poland 1B Jake Hawkins has made two stellar plays the last two innings. He made a nice stretch at first in the 4th and reached into the stands for an out in the 5th. Other than that, not a lot of action. Game is moving quick.

4th: POL 1, CBW 0

Nothing doing for either team in the fourth. Only five hits combined so far this morning.

3rd: POL 1, CBW 0

Anthony Cacagni gets hit by Rice to start the inning. Dom Lipari then reached with a walk followed by a infield single for Ricky Svetlak. With the bases loaded and two outs, Rice hit Burkert to force in the first run of the game. He struck out Jake Hawkins to leave the bases loaded. In the bottom half, Burkert gets into a jam after hitting the first batter. He advanced to second on a error on a pickoff attempt. Moved to third on a wild pitch. But Burkert got Janning to strike out looking to end the inning.

2nd: POL 0, CBW 0

A two-out base hit for the Bulldogs doesn't hurt Rice. Burkert sent the Eagles down in order.

1st inning: POL 0, CBW 0

Poland gets leadoff man Anthony Calcagni over to third, but can't get him across. Burkert takes the hill in the bottom of the inning. He puts two runners on, but no damage done. We're through one scoreless.
