Boardman cops make arrest for Shell station robbery
BOARDMAN — Township police arrested the man who they say robbed an employee at Shell gas station, 8600 Glenwood Ave., at gunpoint.
A call to police about a fight in the parking lot of Vibra Hospital, 8059 South Ave., led them to Jamar Mitchell, 30, of Youngstown, who they say pointed a gun at a Shell employee Sunday and stole money from the business.
Police responded to the incident about 3:15 p.m. Thursday, according to a police report, and found two men arguing. Police then recognized Mitchell as the suspect who U.S. marshals were searching for at a South Avenue residence.
In addition to aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony, Mitchell also is charged with possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia, and was cited for possession of marijuana after police found the items on him. The heroin possession charge is a fifth-degree felony.
