'Local Dairies' program is planned

Tuesday’s monthly meeting of the Salem Historical Society will feature “Local Dairies” by Roy Hartley and Clyde Foor at 7 p.m. in the Dale Shaffer Library’s meeting room at 239 S. Lundy Ave. The public is invited, and parking will be available in the city municipal parking lot on the same street.

The Hartley family had a dairy farm in North Lima for generations and sent their milk to Youngstown to be processed. Hartley worked on the farm for years. He now owns and operates Hartley Seed Cleaning from the site. Hartley collects dairy and farm memorabilia and sets up a display at the Canfield Fair each year.

The greeter will be Bernice Clark, and Dixie Gordon and Joan Lora will provide refreshments.
