Mahoning commissioners close portion of Raccoon Road in Canfield for 2 weeks

CANFIELD — The Mahoning County commissioners voted this afternoon to close South Raccoon Road in Canfield Township between Leffingwell Road and U.S. Route 224 for about two weeks beginning June 15.

The closure is part of the Ohio Department of Transportation’s U.S. Route 224 and state Route 11 interchange improvement project.

The commissioners, meeting at Canfield City Hall, also awarded a $57,148 resurfacing project for Madison Street in Campbell to R.T. Vernal Paving & Excavating Inc., of North Lima.

That project is funded by federal Community Development Block Grant monies.

The commissioners will return to their regular meeting time and place next week for a 10 a.m. June 11 meeting in the county courthouse basement.
