Downtown parking forces Pinnacle Health Concepts to relocate

The owner of Pinnacle Health Concepts LLC cited a lack of parking as the main reason for relocating the business from downtown.
“Parking is terrible,” said Jean McConnell-Copploe.
Pinnacle Health announced Tuesday it’s relocating to 755 Boardman-Canfield Road Building F, Unit 2, Boardman.
The business opened at the Central YMCA building at 17 N. Champion St. in February 2002 and treated conditions such as vertigo, balance dysfunctions, migraines, pelvic-floor syndrome, incontinence and sports injuries.
“We spent the last 13 years in downtown Youngstown, which has been great. We were able to witness downtown’s revitalization firsthand,” McConnell-Copploe said in a statement. “But, for the benefit of our patients, we feel the move to this location will be better. We’ll be on the first floor with ample parking nearby. Our patients will be able to park directly in front of our door and walk right in.”
She said the lack of parking made it difficult for clients who struggled with walking because of their injuries. She’s asked the city to create more handicapped-parking spaces near the YMCA.
Mayor John A. McNally said he isn’t aware of any parking requests from Pinnacle Health within the last year, but he said the city and YMCA officials are considering placing more handicapped-parking spots near the Y after work on a nearby sidewalk was completed.
The mayor pointed out there is a parking deck across from the YMCA.
In general, he said there is plenty of parking in downtown, but added there was some inconvenience on an individual basis for some downtown business owners.
