Transplant recipient continues to recover

Transplant recipient continues to recover

WARREN

Surgeons at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC closed the incision made for the liver transplant received Wednesday by Jamie, 4, of Trumbull County, a move considered another positive step in her recovery.

The incision was left open so doctors could better monitor her progress and not have to operate again if something went wrong, said Marilyn Pape, department manager for foster care and adoption for Trumbull County Children Services, which has had custody of Jamie since she was an infant.

Jamie was placed in an induced coma to aid her recovery, but she is expected to be awakened in the next few days. Also, Jamie’s donor, David Denovchek of Niles, is expected to be released from the hospital in the next few days, Pape said.

The resident said Findley, the father of her children, is homeless, has a heroin addiction and was at her apartment when she left that day at 3 p.m.

He had left on foot before she did, she said. But a neighbor said he came back later that day.

Boy, 16, faces charges

Treyvonne Edwards of Erie Street is charged with aggravated burglary, receiving stolen property and obstructing official business, all of which are felonies. He also was cited for underage possession of tobacco and curfew violation.

The charges stem from an incident early Saturday in which a victim reported coming home to a burglary in progress. Edwards was held at gunpoint by a retired law-enforcement official who lives in the apartment building.

The victim told police she observed two to three men taking items from her apartment. Police are looking for the other suspects. Edwards was taken to the Martin P. Joyce JuvenileJustice Center.

Multiple charges

BOARDMAN

A township man faces multiple charges after he reportedly resisted arrest and assaulted a police officer.

James Tribble, 31, of Sharon Drive, is charged with misdemeanor domestic violence, resisting arrest and obstructing official business; felony counts of operating a vehicle while impaired and assault on a peace officer; and bench warrants out of Youngstown Municipal Court for failure to appear on charges of driving under suspension and drug possession.

The charges stem from an incident Friday in which he reportedly caused a domestic disturbance with multiple relatives and threatened to kill them.

When police apprehended him, he reportedly showed signs of intoxication, then became violent and kicked a police officer in the groin area.
