Missing woman found in D.C.

YOUNGSTOWN
A missing 78-year-old Katherine Street woman police were looking for last week has been found.
Chief of Detecives Capt. Brad Blackburn said Corrine Lawson is in the Washington, D.C., area.
Blackburn said detectives learned of Blackburn’s whereabouts Monday morning. Blackburn said Lawson was once an employee of the Youngstown school district, and she applied for some sort of public assistance in the Washington area.
Blackburn said an agency there faxed her paperwork to the city school district late Friday for information on her so she could receive her benefits, and the city school district contacted police.
Because it was so late in the day Friday, detectives could find no one to speak to until Monday, when a social worker contacted by detectives said they had spoken to Lawson personally and she is safe.
Lawson was reported missing by a relative Wednesday, but her daughter who lives with her told police she had last seen her mother May 14.
Detectives were worried because it appeared Lawson told no one where she was going. Her car was still in the driveway and was not in a condition to be driven.
