YSU Women Retirees award scholarships

Women Retirees of Youngstown State University recently awarded two $750 scholarships at Stonebridge Grille and Tavern in Boardman. Recipients are required to be full-time YSU juniors, U.S. citizens, enrolled in a declared major degree program and have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Recipients are Joanne M. Starkey, left, and Dana M. Kuchta. Starkey is studying for a degree in the coordinated program in dietetics. She is an assistant in the office of Dr. Shayesteh, a registered dietitian nutritionist in Boardman. She plans to become a clinical registered dietitian in a hospital setting. Kuchta is pursuing a degree in family and consumer studies and may pursue a master’s degree in health and human services. She is a single mother of three and considers helping her children with homework as one of her most important contributions. SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR
