Police update injuries sustained by man shot by officer

WARREN — Police said they do not know the condition of Randall Bryant, 45, who was hit by gunfire from a Warren police officer Wednesday night, but they clarified the type of injuries he suffered.

Bryant was hit in the arm by at least one gunshot from Patrolman Adam Huffman, but the shot passed through his arm and injured his lung, said Lt. Jeff Cole of the Warren Police Department.

Initial reports from officers were that Huffman's shots only hit Bryant in the arm but that he was in critical condition on Thursday at St. Elizabeth Health Center.

A hospital spokesperson said last week no information was available on Bryant.

Warren police said Huffman fired at Bryant after Bryant came to the front door holding a shotgun and failed to lower the weapon after being warned twice.
